I grew up in Ireland in the 80's, we had two TV stations, and gratefully Highway to Heaven was on every week. I loved it, as I did Little house on the Prairie. Rest in Peace Michael Landon, please God I'll meet you in heaven one day 🙏❤❤❤

Leslie Nielsen was a fine actor who doesn't get enough credit as a fine actor. Obviously he's beloved, arguably the most universally beloved American actor (could you imagine meeting someone who didn't like Leslie Nielsen?). I think this is one of his finest performances. He brings a lot of tenderness and emotion to this story.

I couldn't agree more. Leslie was an amazing actor in this. All these years later, this is still one of my favorite episodes. He also had an amazing gift for comedic timing, as well. His versatility as an actor was phenomenal. I miss him.

No one ever locked me down. God gave me the right to enjoy His world...no man can take that from me. I went where I wanted and no one stopped me and I wore no mask, either. Believe it or not. Trust God, not man.
Oh, boy ! This is another of these masterpieces. These shows are the equivalent of "comfort" food. These are comfort stories,leave you feeling good. This one's great.
I think this one made me feel the best of all the episodes. You can really change your life if you want to.....in real life!
This was an excellent way of putting the good into our deeds & the gift which Dear GOD has offered for all to put an effort to make Our Dear planet turn itself into heaven. It was an excellent episode & everyone loves it .indeed.

I love this story .... God is love!! I believe when we have strong faith with God .... and believing in him!! What ever problem that we facing God will make away .... Amen.

Even though this series took place in the eighties, these premises are still relevant today. We need to bring back shows like these.

I expected a typical Christmas Carol ripoff but I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a wonderful episode. Landon, French and Neilsen all having already passed over makes this episode even more poignant. RIP and thank you all.

I always tear up whenever I watch a character display genuine remorse. When Nielson cried...I cried.

One of my fav. episodes of HTH for sure. Reminds me of "A Christmas Carol" where Mr. Scrooge realizes the error of his ways & changes his way. Same with "It's A Wonderful Life". Same type of story line. It's nice to be given a second chance at life, no matter how bad one has messed up.
This is my most favorite episode of the series. The subject matter definitely applies to today with the greedy corporate world and the swamp that we are trying to drain. What a perfect guest star roster. I just love Leslie Nielsen here, and I recognize Donna Mitchell, the actress who played Kate Larson here, from her stint as Dr. Audrey Samuels on the daytime soap opera, As the World Turns. This is definitely a must see.

I speak from horrific experiences of death and disastrous experiences of my own when I say that this can REALLY happen and God IS real. I was that man in this episode and now I am a new person who is currently righting wrongs. Life IS beautiful and so are all the people, places, and things in it. Though not easy, the road to righteousness and redemption is worth traveling and can be taken no matter our past when we truly believe. One final note: Rest In Peace, Mr. Neilson... and stop calling me Shirley!

I never liked this show when it was on but started watching it at 6:00am every morning on Antenna TV because I couldn’t get any other station and nothing else was on that early. After a few episodes I was hooked. Love it now.
In my top 5 favorite Highway episodes. I've probably watched this one at least 10x.

It might just be a TV show but Leslie Nielsen's character is very real and there are lots and lots of them in American companies and politics. If you love this country that doesn't mean you turn a blind eye to the corruption that permeates it. "Profits over people."
Ever since I found these clips I can't stop watching them. I had forgotten how good this show was!

This is probably one of my favorite episodes of Highway to Heaven for this reason. God DID give the Bible to everyone like Jonathan Smith said. In this episode, the bullet stopped at Isaiah 16: 1 which says "Send ye the Lamb" Whom is the Son of God. Christ IS the difference between life and death purpose and uselessness love and selfishness. Amen!

Good to see Landon occasionally having to concentrate on keeping a straight face with a born comedian opposite in takes quietly challenging him to not do so each time... That took effort..!
Leslie Nielsen did great in the comic roles, but I believe he excelled in the serious ones in the first half of his career.
This being in the latter half, one can't help being aware of his previous depths of character - all necessary in his chosen profession...
